Janitors are the unsung heroes of every building. They keep everything in the facility clean, tidy and well-maintained. Janitors work in various settings, such as schools, hospitals, offices, airports, and shopping malls. A janitor’s job is a vital role that requires attention to detail and physical stamina.
The primary responsibility of a janitor is to maintain cleanliness in the building they are assigned to. They sweep floors or use floor cleaning machines, mop floors with appropriate solutions and equipment or use a vacuum cleaner to remove dirt from carpets. In addition to floor cleaning duties, janitors also empty trash cans regularly and make sure that all waste materials are properly disposed of according to established guidelines.
Moreover, janitors perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and fixing leaky faucets or toilets when needed.
